CAMPAIGN FOR YOUR RIGHT TO SELL

Following the petition created by Sonia McColl and delivered to No.10 Downing Street on 19th January, we now want to keep the pressure on the government to take action. We can do this in two ways.

We ask all residents to write to the Secretary of State for Communities to take action on the Petition and start working on a change to the law. Don’t worry about the impending election; your letter will land on the relevant desk and the Minister (whoever he is) will have to take notice. A model letter is available for download here – http://www.iphas.org.uk/documents/ResidentslettertoSecretaryofState201002.pdf
Many residents do not have a computer so we ask you to make sufficient copies to distribute to friends and neighbours on your park or make appropriate arrangements with your residents association to ensure that everyone has a copy of the letter to sign.

Also we need information. Your representatives from IPHAS and NAPHR will be discussing with the Department of Communities how to progress this. We have the support of Lord Graham who has suggested that we need facts about the scale of the problem. If you have had your sale obstructed, or you know of someone on your park who has had their sale obstructed, please send the information to IPHAS or to NAPHR or to Sonia McColl. The letter should include your name and address, the name of the park and the park owner and a summary of how the sale was prevented or obstructed. Was it by putting off the buyer or by stating the home was unsaleable? If you are writing about another resident, please ensure that they have given permission for their name to be used or that they no longer live on a park and therefore not concerned.
Please write soon; it is important that we can give facts and figures to the government to counter any opposition to the campaign.

The Petition contained over 8,500 signatures and for the full story and pictures on the presentation to No.10, please click on http://www.iphas.org.uk/documents/PetitionatoNo10.pdf
Thank you to all who supported this great effort.
